Stunned I stand next to the grave. Lay down my rose and put some dirt on the casket. Too young to die, but six feet deep you go. And while the rose tumbled down into the grave, I was flooded by emotion. Sadness, anger, hatred, despair is what filled me, flowed into my tears.
I want to love, but I’m afraid of pain
I want to love, but it won’t remain
I want to love, but I don’t think I dare
I want to love, but I know Death’s there
And as they lowered you into the earth, the soil claimed you for eternity. And as dark clouds come rolling in, so did the sudden pressure of loneliness. The raindrops that soaked the earth are the tears shed by the ones you loved.
Six feet deep you went, and took my sanity with you.
